In 2020, during the height of the Covid Pandemic, I began teaching photography for Sichuan University of Science & Engineering in Zigong, Sichuan, China, as part of a partnership organized through the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois, USA. The class sizes have been massive, 100+ students in each. Since inception, I have encountered more than 500 students virtually. In the fall of 2023, I made my initial visit. Collected here are views of the region and the individuals whom I have finally encountered face-to-face.
